Ever since I was a little girl I have loved monograms. I remember my late grandmother always having items monogrammed. Sweaters, oxford shirts and even beach towels. I loved the curve of the letters, or the straight rigid formality. Either way it was classy and when I got my first book bag with my initials monogrammed I couldn’t of been happier.

Now, more than ever a preppy resurgence has occurred. From plates, to clothes, iPhone cases, sunglasses, and key rings – monograms are everywhere. So naturally, I started thinking about how this would flow into wedding design.Below are some fun designs I found which caught my eye. There are so many ways to easily incorporate two names or a new last name into a wedding I think it’s something you should keep in mind!

Thursday Things We Love: Combining Seasons

Early September is a fun month. Summer is still here. Blasting us with warm days and beautiful sun. Yet, nipping at it’s heels is Fall. With cooler nights and tree’s slightly changing colors. It’s hard to decide in a time like this to design a wedding completely devoted to the warm months of summer or the cool crisp season that is fall. It may be an easy decision for couples marring in places where the seasons do not change. But, for the rest of us, or couples that want to give a slight summer, fall feel no matter where they are it can be a challenge.

I started thinking about the colors and what kind of slight combinations one could do. You want to produce in the end a kind of perfect combo of colors that can transition. It was funny how most of the time I found I was looking at flower arrangements. Flowers are designed, just like any wedding location. There is something though about how flowers come together in an organic way to give the best starting off point.

Thursday Things We Love: A Love Story

Most guests attending will know how you met. But there may be the occasional cousin, great aunt, a plus one or a buddy from work that doesn’t know the whole story.

Never the less , telling how any couple met is fun, cute and part of the journey to this day. That is why I always find it adorable when couples can find cute quirky ways to retell their tale on that special day.

I absolutely enjoy the beautiful graphics and witty telling of some of the cards below. Have them at the ceremony or even sent with the invitation. is a great idea.

A more classic route, can be a beautiful card, read like a story, perfectly tucked into each napkin setting. Another fun option I found was table numbers! Each correlated to events or certain things the couple liked. The day they met “5″, or his favorite number “7″ etc.

Another fun idea, if you are up to it, is as an aisle runner. At the ceremony one fun couple had an aisle runner filled with images and quotes from the moment they met, until the ceremony day.

How ever you decide to do it, I think it’s a nice touch and aw factor addition to any part of the wedding process.

Creativity is needed when it comes to all aspects of the wedding planning process. This means it also comes down to how you ask family and friends to be part of the wedding party. It’s hard not to ask them to be a bridesmaid when you are screaming for joy on the phone after the question is popped. I totally get it! But, better than over the phone, or coffee is a creative DIY.

From adorable little boxes with favorite items, to wine bottle labels that are personalized just for them – these gifts can show them how much you care. It’s the thought you put into asking them to be part of your special day.
