Jacobs Pillow Fiesta {from the archives}

As we approach Cinco de Mayo I am reminded of this Barn Fiesta at Jacobs Pillow, I am still so so excited to share the images! We worked to create a wedding like no other for Liz & Peyton and their friends and family. It was fantastic and it all started with the couples love of authentic mexican food. From there the ideas just started flowing.  We used custom cut papel picado hanging form the rafters of the Doris Duke Barn to create an instant sense of drama & fun.  Bright colors of deep red, gold and turquoise were used throughout to tie the fiesta feeling to the Berkshire surroundings with Linen tablecloths and pillows from LaTavola as big color statements. Amazing weddings stationary was customized by Hello Lucky, handmade Tazo chocolate set out in rustic planters, and flowers were placed in tequilla bottles and authentic cracker tins and cans from the same market that we bought the amazing Jarritos sodas from-and yes those are TOMATILLOS ON THE VINE in the arrangements! The reception was truly a party with stations for food, abundant cocktails and lots of dancing! And for those seeking a quiet moment to enjoy the Berkshires, they simply had to step out onto the wraparound porch, settle into a comfy chair and wrap up with one of the colorful throws that were scattered about.

A Wedding at Home

Laura & Paul wanted to have a sweet personal wedding at the bride’s home. Lucky for them that home is a gorgeous farm house in the hills of CT.  The family spent all spring getting ready for the big day-mowing the spot in the field where the tent would be, trimming the garden, building the huppah and even making blueberry jam for favors.

With an infusion of warm springtime colors (and who doesn’t need that right about now!) the result is a sweet, sunny celebration filled with love. The tables were dressed with blue silk runners-I guess we really do love them-as well as gorgeous garden flowers in salvaged wood boxes.
